Combining classical integrity with a contemporary movement vocabulary, Ballet Edmonton is a creation-based company of ten dance artists from Canada and around the world. Grounded in the foundation and artistry of classical ballet, with an emphasis on innovation, the Company presents a repertoire by a diverse array of Canadian and international contemporary choreographers.
Only the Window by Ihsan Rustem (22 min)
When something is left unsaid, when a story is incomplete when only a moment captured through the window is visible… Life is replete with mystery, intrigue, the unknown, moments that are left unfinished. How does our mind paint the canvas of missing parts? This creation is inspired by the personal tales of the Ballet Edmonton artists.
Le Quattro by Wen Wei Wang (22 min)
Set to Max Richter’s digitized postmodernist recomposition of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, Le Quattro takes us through the changing seasons as Wen Wei Wang’s choreographic interpretation evokes images of nature, evolving weather, and the emotions they elicit.
