We invite participants from all levels and all performative backgrounds.

South Asian Classical Dance Aesthetics and Technique will highlight basic adavus (movements) in the styles of Bharatha Natyam, Kuchipudi and Kathak that combine hand gestures (mudras) and rhythmic language.

In this 90-minute workshop, participants with a background/training in any dance technique will dance in bare feet and gain an understanding of the full range of movement vocabulary and physicality in the spectrum of South Asian dance styles. The class will culminate in participants learning a combo/routine.
