This profoundly human solo – created by Sølvi Edvardsen for the extraordinary South Asian dancer Sudesh Adhana – Man plants its feet in two unique cultures. Sølvi came from Norway looking for inspiration in the form of Indian Dance; Sudesh (from Faridabad, India) was doing the opposite. The result is a simple, provocative meshing of two diverse cultures – an exploration of “man” in regard to both masculinity and humanity at large. With one simple prop and one amazing dancer, Man delivers images that will last a lifetime.
“Sudesh Adana… is remarkable, portraying the softer qualities of man using only a small sitting stool as his partner.” Stephen White, Victoria Dance Series
“Fabulous” – Tanja Elisabeth Caldecourt – Oppland Arbeiderbland, Norway
